I can’t say that I’ve done a LOT of traveling to faraway places in my 38 years on this planet, but I can say that out of all the places I’ve been to…
- London (2008) — This trip was the fulfillment of years of wishful thinking and dreaming. My great-aunt accompanied me for two weeks of sightseeing in and around “the City.” I still have a box of memorabilia from that trip and I love looking at pictures I took. It was most definitely a huge leap out of my comfort zone; I had never been that far away from everything and everyone familiar to me. But, oh, what an experience! I hope to someday go back to London, maybe also to Paris. The Netherlands (where my ancestors came from) is also on my travel bucket list. 😉
- Big Family Vacation Out West (1989) — My family headed out west, visiting all kinds of places – Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, the Badlands, Grand Tetons, Arizona, Utah, Lake Tahoe, southern California, San Francisco, Colorado. While out in CA, we hit up Disneyland (of course) and visited relatives of both my parents. I feel bad for my sister — she was only five at the time so she doesn’t remember a whole lot of that vacation. That was probably the most fun I’ve had on a family trip. 😄
Do any of you have favorite vacations or favorite places you’ve been to?
