Having a sense of gratitude and thankfulness for all of the blessings in my life – it can be hard to do sometimes. It’s too easy to go to the negative. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂
Yesterday while having lunch under a rare sun break and feeling somewhat depressed (McDonald’s was out of happy meal toys) I prayed, “Lord, I need a sign, what do you want from me?” He simply said “Look up,” so rather reluctantly I did. There I was sitting under a boat pulled up in dry dock named Gratitude.
God knows me very well. He knows exactly what I need and His timing is always perfect. He also knows that the secret to happiness is learning how to be content with what you have, to rejoice in all things.
That is easier said than done, especially when you have to walk in some dark places and have a tendency to be rather cynical and sarcastic about it all. God is a God of impossible things and sometimes He asks impossible things of us too, or rather things that feel impossible.
