I have a great empathy for Jeremiah, not the frog, but Jeremiah the weeping prophet. Jeremiah is called by God to warn the people of Jerusalem of their impending doom and to call them to repentance. They’re engaging in idolatry and likely child sacrifice, among other things. The Babylonians are coming if they don’t mend their ways

When Jeremiah is called by God he resists, points out that he doesn’t speak well, he’s too young, an only child, not up to this job at all. That really speaks to the nature of God and the nature of people.
